Affected Parties

Undergraduate applicants from private high schools

Policy Language

Applicants from nonpublic high schools, whose accreditation cannot be confirmed, must have their school submit a self-certification form to confirm their curriculum meets state standards. Statements printed on the official transcript, confirming that the curriculum meets state standards, will also be accepted.  Applicants must also satisfy the same admissions requirements as other applicants, including applying and paying the application fee.

Policy Rationale

This policy exists to provide a framework for prospective students from nonpublic secondary institutions to apply for admission to the University.

Procedural Information

Upon accepting the self-certification form, Admissions will review applicants holistically, considering such factors as GPA, SAT and/or ACT scores, disciplinary record, and extracurricular activities (sports, clubs, jobs, service, etc.).

Failure to meet the requirements delineated in this policy will result in an applicant being rejected for admission to the University.
