Responsibilities

Responsibilities pertaining to managing and coaching adjuncts include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Onboard new SME team members each sub-term, as applicable

  • Meet with SME team members regarding course content each sub-term

  • Collaborate with SME team members on an ongoing basis
  • Coach SME team on rubric and assignment interpretation
  • Review and interpret course submission and success rates
  • Review SME EOC Dashboard


While training a new faculty member teaching the course, the SME should cover several items including, but not limited to the following:

  • Course Syllabus and Course Schedule
  • Assignments and Rubrics
    • Special focus on the grading rubrics to promote consistency across sections
  • Frequently Asked Questions
    • Student and faculty perspectives
  • Course-specific information as it relates to accreditation and program-specific certifications
  • Technology
    • If embedded textbooks/platforms are utilized, describe how to set this technology up.
