Policy

1. Liberty University will document and make available to all users of the myLU Facebook Application, standards describing what information may be stored, and how that information will be used.

2. This policy and standard will be subject to regular review and updated as needed.

Policy Rationale:

This privacy policy sets out how Liberty University uses and protects any information that you give Liberty University when you use the myLU Facebook application. Liberty University is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. All information gathered when using the myLU Facebook application will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. Liberty University may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. This policy is effective from April 19, 2012.

1. What information Liberty University will store

1.1.1.Liberty University may store the following information:

1.1.1.1. Facebook user id


2. What Liberty University may do with the information we store

2.1. The areas within myLU that use the Facebook user id are:

2.1.1. Academics Checklist Widget- display Facebook public photo of classmates that have connected to Facebook via myLU.

2.1.2. Blackboard Widget Roster - Facebook icon with link to registered user's public Facebook page.

2.1.3. myLU Profile - allow user to connect their Facebook account and use their public Facebook profile photo instead of their Flamespass photo or the generic profile image. Detect status feature allows users to disconnect Facebook from myLU.

2.1.4. Alumni Directory - displays Facebook icon with link to user's public Facebook page.

2.1.5. myLU Header - displays user's current Facebook status and allows it to be updated by the user.

2.1.6. Facebook News Feed widget - displays Liberty University Facebook account news feeds.


3. Security

3.1. Liberty University is committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

3.2. myLU users can "disconnect " their Facebook account from myLU at any point by using the Facebook detect status button located on the "Networks" profile tab within myLU. Clicking "Not Me" will disconnect Facebook from myLU and delete the Facebook user id associated with that myLU user record from the database table.

3.3. Liberty University does not share this information and is in full agreement/compliance with Facebook Platform Policies.
